I am fascinated by the dramatic shapes and colors of the natural landscape, in both wild and urban settings. I portray my subjects by describing their core aspects. Beginning with a pared-down arrangement of contrasting shapes I allow the process of color mixing and brushwork to dictate the final outcome. The finished works are colorful expressions of the essential forms that inspire me.
